Quranic Programs for Kids Held in over 6,000 Mosques in Egypt

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Egypt’s Awqad ministry said it has held Quranic educational programs for children in more than 6,000 mosques across the country.

In a statement, the ministry said that it has implemented various Quranic activities in Egypt since the beginning of the current year.

They included a total of 2864 Quranic circles for people in mosques and elsewhere, it said, Youm7 website reported.

Some of them were attended by senior qaris who recited the Quran with the Warsh and Hafs narrations, the statement said.  

The Quranic circles were received very well by people in different cities, the ministry added.

Other Quranic activities organized by the Awqaf ministry were 127 127 cultural weeks in mosques, educational courses in the fields of Quran and Hadiths sciences, Quranic programs for women, and educational programs for imams of mosques, according to the statement.

The activities have been aimed at promoting the teachings of the Holy Quran and Islam in the society, the ministry went on to say.

In Egypt, the Awqaf ministry is tasked with organizing, coordinating and overseeing Quranic and religious activities.
